Today’s conversation came about because a client of mine was rapidly changing her website. The page name and button text and forms were changing regularly and it was difficult to keep up sometimes with the analytics setup!

Tracking a rapidly changing website can be a real challenge because while you always want to be accurate, sometimes you need to provide for flexibility. Otherwise what you think is accurate can quickly become out of date and therefore not accurate at all.

Even though it might feel like a challenge, it is definitely worthwhile tracking a rapidly changing website. The data from tracking how users are using the website can provide insight as to how the website should be updated.

The last thing you want to do is make a whole lot of changes and then discover that you introduced a bug or created messaging that your visitors didn’t like.

Keep your tracking flexible will let you make those changes to your website without having to worry about so many extra little details.
