So I was in a sales training meeting…

(I don’t know about you, but coming from a technical background I always feel a bit awkward when it comes to selling)

and we had to answer the question “Why would someone want to buy the product or service from YOU?”.

I must admit, I had this idea in the back of my head that the decision to buy lay with the offer itself – is the service what you need right now and is the price right?

But no, that is not the case. Whether or not someone wants to buy from me specifically is also part of the equation.

We’re brought up not to boast or brag, so you can see my answer to this question still comes across a little awkward. But I thought it was important enough that I would record my answer as a video and share it with you.

How about you – do you know why someone would want to buy from you specifically?

And if they’re not buying from you, if they’re buying from one of your competitors, what special service or unique feature is it that you would have brought that they are now missing out on?
